Spindle Hydraulics Spindle hydraulics refers to using hydraulic fluid to rotate the shaft on an given axis on a machine. The shaft is generally referred to as the spindle, however in shop-floor practice, the word is often used to refer to the entire rotary unit, including not only the shaft, but its bearings and anything attached to it.
